Richard and Adeline Bumann started their photographic hobby as an outgrowth from scuba diving. During their fifteen years of underwater photography, Richard and Adeline (nicknamed Twink) visited many dive locations including California's channel islands, Mexico, Caribbean, Philippines, Malaysia and others.
The Bumann's transformed to topside nature/landscape photography in 1996. The underwater housings were traded for long lenses and the new challenge of landscape and wildlife photography began. The former restrictions of bottom time and exotic locations no longer applied. They could photograph macro, wide angle or telephoto by simply reaching into the camera bag. A whole new pallet of wondrous locations and subjects were discovered at their door step.
Over the years, the Bumann's have presented slide shows at UCSD and the San Diego Civic theater. Each showing included audiences of over a thousand people. Additionally, Richard and Twink have photos in several magazines and three published books.
Richard and Twink are natives of San Diego north county. They married over fifty years ago and have been an inseparable team ever since. They reside on Richard's grandfather's ranch which was homesteaded in 1886. They have two children and three grandchildren.
